Fellowship for reporting from the Middle East

722349_34206487GroundTruth Project in cooperation with the Correspondents Fund , seeks applicants for its  reporting fellowship. This year the fellowship will be awarded in the spirit of James Foley, the American freelance reporter who was murdered by ISIS in 2014.
Proposed stories should cover themes that often are unreported such as life, education and culture in the region. Candidates are encouraged to take inspiration from Foley’s approach, which included a sense of caring about young people that coursed through his reporting and his life. Proposals can also honor Foley’s love of fiction and poetry.
To apply, send a cover letter, resume, a project proposal with a budget not exceeding US$10,000, three work samples and three references to GroundTruth managing editor Kevin Grant at kgrant [at] thegroundtruthproject.org. The deadline is April 3. More information is available here.
