The Thomson Foundation is calling upon young journalists to enter a competition for the Young Journalists from the Developing World FPA Award 2015. The foundation is donating the prize as part of this years’ Foreign Press Awards, which will be held in London on November 24, 2015.

The competition is particularly addressed to young journalists under the age of 30 who are working in a country defined as “developing”, which means in this case regions with a GDP per capita of less than $ 20,000. Bulgaria belongs to such countries, check the World Bank for an international overview.
To apply, journalists not older than 30 years have to hand in a portfolio of three published pieces of work which have been produced during the last 12 months. The media can be chosen freely, any format and language is accepted. However, candidates have to provide an English summary if this is not their working language. Three candidates will be short-listed and have the chance to spend two nights in London and attend the gala award night, where the winners of all FPA awards will be announced.
The deadline for entering the competition is August 28, 2015.
