Bulgaria appears in AEJ’s Media Freedom Reports for the first time

The latest Media Freedom Reports from all member countries of AEJ have been released. This is the first time that reportage from Bulgaria has been included. It was drafted by the team of AEJ-Bulgaria in September last year and then delivered to the AEJ’s 2010 congress in Ordu, Turkey.
The AEJ is an official Observer in the Council of Europe’s Media Steering Committee since 2007. Presently, a new Database Project has started along with other media and human rights organisations. Its goal is to map assaults on media freedom and independence across Europe, to seek and to end them. The AEJ’s Media Freedom Representative, William Horsley, is also active on a Council of Europe Working Group aimed at ensuring that anti-terrorism laws are not misused to block legitimate freedom of expression.
