The training will take place from\u00a0<strong>July 1-8, 2023<\/strong>. The camp will offer up to 20 Bulgarian high school students with a demonstrated interest in journalism the opportunity to work with international and local media experts and to develop their own media projects.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to take part in the camp, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n1.\u00a0<i>Send us a journalistic story in English by April 20, 2023.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The piece might be tied to one of our monthly topics or on a different topic you have decided to cover. If you already have a published story on sCOOL Media\u2019s website but it is in Bulgarian, you can translate it into English and use it as part of your application.<br \/>\nThe selection jury will select the best materials whose authors will compete to take part in the summer camp. It will be made up of one representative from AEJ-Bulgaria, one representative from the Fulbright Commission and journalists representing broadcast, print and online media.<\/p>\n<p><b>2.\u00a0<i>Consider the following selection criteria. In choosing the winners, the judges will consider:<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Topic relevance<\/li>\n<li>Style of storytelling<\/li>\n<li>Story structure (Here are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scoolmedia.com\/how-to-create-news-stories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some tips<\/a>\u00a0on how to write a news story)<\/li>\n<li>Good use of quotes\/clips<\/li>\n<li>Human interest potential<\/li>\n<li>News-worthiness<\/li>\n<li>Interview techniques<\/li>\n<li>The range and variety of stories submitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>3.<i>\u00a0Complete\u00a0<\/i><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/TcpGdASuaS7hhJbW8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b><i>this application form<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i>.<br \/>\n<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong><em><strong>\u00a0A member of the jury will get in touch with the shortlisted candidates<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The organizers will cover all travel and accommodation expenses.
