There has come a point with fake news where people are beginning to believe what they want to believe, whether or not the news story is actually true.\u201d<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/australia-news\/2017\/jan\/25\/fake-news-named-word-of-the-year-by-macquarie-dictionary\" target=\"_blank\">The Guardian<\/a> points out that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macquariedictionary.com.au\/news\/view\/article\/431\/\" target=\"_blank\">Macquarie Dictionary<\/a>\u2019s decision echoes the recent choices of other prominent dictionaries. Last November, Oxford Dictionaries chose \u201cpost-truth\u201d as its word of the year.
