A press trip to the Philippines

10800024925_a1ec3832be_bEuropean Journalism Centre and the Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (DG ECHO) of the European Commission, the invites ten EU28 journalists to join a press trip on 9-12 February 2015 in the Philippines.
The purpose of the visit is journalists to become familiar with the projects to help local Filipino communities to better withstand future disasters. Following Typhoon Haiyan, the European Commission invested 40 million euros in relief assistance as well as early recovery and reconstruction. The press trip will provide insight into how the EU has supported disaster-prone countries like the Philippines for disaster response and preparedness. The participants will visit the disaster-affected areas and meet the EU representatives, partner organisations, local authorities and communities.
Travel, accommodation (5 nights) and some meals will be covered and arranged by the organisers. It’s recommendable to apply before 31st of January, 2015. More information is available here.
